Breaking Bread Events — Healing Through Food and Fellowship

Breaking Bread is one of Dare To Live’s signature community outreach initiatives — using food and shared conversation as bridges to healing and connection.

About this program

Breaking Bread is one of Dare To Live’s signature community outreach initiatives — using food and shared conversation as bridges to healing and connection.

Hosted in schools, churches, and community spaces, each event features:
• A meal generously provided by local restaurants, volunteers, parents, and families who believe in giving back through service and compassion.
• Story-sharing and testimonies that promote understanding and empathy.
• Interactive discussions and small group activities that reduce stigma around mental health.
• Opportunities for students, families, and faith partners to volunteer together, reinforcing the power of community.

These gatherings nourish both body and spirit — turning shared meals into moments of understanding, gratitude, and hope.

Goal: Strengthen community relationships, expand awareness, and build a culture of openness and care around youth mental health.
