Purpose


Medical professionals provide clinical expertise, health literacy education, and
holistic wellness support to complement peer-led programming. Their involvement
ensures Dare To Live remains evidence-based, safe, and impactful for all youth,
especially those in underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities


Educational Leadership & Webinars


• Host monthly or quarterly webinars on youth mental health, wellness, suicide
prevention, substance use, and related topics.
• Provide interactive Q & A sessions for students, parents, and educators.
• Support health literacy by explaining complex medical or mental health topics in
youth-friendly, accessible language.
Training & Mentorship
• Assist in training peer leaders on suicide prevention warning signs, crisis de-
escalation techniques, and coping strategies (nutrition, sleep, stress management,
exercise).
• Mentor college psychology interns and student leaders during workshops or
events.
Advising on Holistic Wellness
• Offer guidance on overall youth well-being, including physical health, stress
management, and preventative care.
• Advocate for integrating mental health with physical health in Dare To Live
programming.

Professional Oversight


• Support risk management protocols in student clubs and peer support circles.

• Provide expert consultation for high-risk or sensitive cases referred by peer
leaders.
• Collaborate with licensed therapists and counselors to ensure consistent care
pathways.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
• Serve as guest speakers at Dare To Live school assemblies, community events, or
health fairs.
• Help strengthen partnerships with clinics, hospitals, and local healthcare
providers.
• Promote equitable access to culturally competent mental health and healthcare
resources.


Resource Development


• Contribute to Dare To Live’s educational resources, including wellness guides,
toolkits, and FAQs.
• Develop recorded webinars for school distribution.
• Assist with creating materials on youth-specific health and suicide prevention.

Time Commitment


- Quarterly webinars or workshops (virtual or in-person).
- Occasional consultation calls with Dare To Live staff and peer leaders.
- Participation in advisory meetings as needed.
